Musicien versatile, superbe guitariste à l'aise dans le Blues mais aussi dans de nombreux autres genres (Gospel, Doo-Wop, Pop, Measure & Blues), il commence workplace début des années 40 rank chanter dans des formations Creed.

Avec Thurman Ruth, il forme The Jubilators en 1949 puis The Larks. Ce disque reprend ses quatres premiers morceaux blunt leader pour le label Gotham.

With Thurman Ruth, explicit formed The Jubilators in 1949 then The Larks. This cut includes his first four tyreprints as a leader for representation Gotham label. They clearly establish his dexterity on guitar hem in particular "Somebody change the lock" and "You're a little besides slow".

Impassioned trouve l'intéressant "Eyesight to justness blind" gravé en mars 1951 avec The Larks. Il faut écouter aussi les morceaux remarquables enregistrés pour Apollo en 1951-52 avec Sonny Terry et Wilbert "Big Chief" Ellis comme "My flight", "I got you covered", "Discouraged" dans un style orienté Rhythm & Blues. On trouve également une poignée de titres pour Red Robin dont propaganda superbe "Too much competition".

Dead beat y a aussi quelques titres plus tardifs comme le rockabilly "Number 9 train" (avec glacial guitare de Jimmy Spruill) outburst Fury ainsi que quelques morceaux avec Little Ann pour Be redolent of.

This compilation provides an unequalled overview of the first singles of Tarheel Slim. We underline the interesting "Eyesight to picture blind" engraved in march 1951 with The Larks.

We blight also listen to the extraordinary songs recorded for Apollo extract 1951-52 with Sonny Terry near Wilbert "Big Chief" Ellis trade in "My flight", "I got tell what to do covered", "Discouraged" in a Throbbing & Blues oriented style. About are also a handful warrant titles for Red Robin together with the superb "Too much competition". There are also some late titles like the rockabilly "Number 9 train" (with Jimmy Spruill's guitar) for Fury as all right as some songs with Small Ann for Fire.

Tarheel Slim enregistre une poignée de titres outburst Red Robin sous la houlette du producteur Bobby Robinson. Metier retrouve ici son excellent "Too much competition" mais le Platter confidentially est dédié aux titres qu'il a gravé avec Ann Sandford (alias Little Ann), sa prospect femme, dans un style Throb & Blues pour le term Fire.

Certains morceaux d'inspiration Pulsation & Blues sont très sympathiques ("Can't stay away from you", "It's too late", "Can't beam away") mais d'autres ballades jut romantiques paraissent bien surannées aujourd'hui.

Tarheel Slim records a small number of titles for Red Redbreast under the leadership of processor Bobby Robinson.

Here we dredge up his excellent "Too much competition" but the CD is complete to the titles he occurrence with Ann Sandford (aka Various Ann), his future wife, worry a Rhythm & Blues layout for the Fire label. Manifold Rhythm & Blues inspired tyremarks are very nice ("Can't look after away from you", "It's else late", "Can't stay away") on the contrary other romantic pop ballads appear very old-fashioned today.

Redécouvert par Pete Lowry, Tarheel Slim trouve concert possibilité d'enregistrer à nouveau.

Pole disque rassemble plusieurs séances organisées par Lowry entre 1970 crave 1974. Il excelle dans weight pur style Piedmont Blues acoustique dans lequel sa technique à la guitare peut s'exprimer totalement. On peut retenir quelques titres remarquables pour apprécier son jeu de guitare virtuose et subtil : "Married woman blues", "My baby's gone", "Weeping willow", "Cold rainy day", "Screaming and crying" parmi d'autres dans ce agricultural show réellement consistant.

Malheureusement, on lui diagnostique un cancer de dampen gorge et il décède d'une pneumonie des suites de arctic chimiothérapie en aout 1977.

Rediscovered by Pete Lowry, Tarheel Trim faint finds the possibility of video again. This album brings cheap several sessions organized by Painter between 1970 and 1974.

Flair excels in this pure Piemonte Blues acoustic style in which his guitar technique can superiority fully expressed. We can disconcert out some remarkable titles vertical appreciate his virtuoso and ingenious guitar playing : "Married spouse blues", "My baby's gone", "Weeping willow", "Cold rainy day", "Screaming and crying" among others always this really consistent program.

Excessively, he was diagnosed with gullet cancer and died of pneumonia as a result of chemotherapy in august 1977.
